Photo a Day 10

Every year or two we have a few things on the ballot that will add to our taxes. I think the minute some people see ‘tax increase’ and automatically vote no. Not me, I gladly vote for these increases, 12 cents a month here, 7 cents a month there. As long as it’s adding to the community, I don’t mind. Of course, in 20 years I’ll probably look back and realize I’ve nickel-and-dimed myself out of retirement money. For now though, I’ll enjoy it.
The latest fruits of my tax cents? A local park that was built three blocks from our home. A huge pond stocked with fish, bike/jogging paths winding through the area, a waterfall and it extends into a marsh that I’m guessing will be full of birds once it gets warm again.
It helps offset my dissapointment in the Wal-Mart being built at the opposite end of town.
Dad and I always made a practice of voting for educational improvements. Our theory - everyone benefits from a well educated society.
