Build a Garden in less than three minutes.
Mar 30th, 2007 by jeremy
This is the video of me building the before-mentioned garden. All wrapped up with Peter, Paul and Mary music in less than three minutes. Movie after the break.
I should mention that day after I finished (I think it was a total of 20 hours including the time spent building the boxes in the garage) it snowed all day.
That was cool. How did you do the time lapse? It looks like you did a great job.
Jeremy,
That was awesome!! It made me a little dizzy to watch, but I loved it! It is cool that your dad was able to come over and help a little too. Good luck with the garden this year. Mine was a complete failure last year, so I am hoping to improve just a little this year. Glad you have enjoyed yourself and your dining possibilities. I am proud of you for cooking for yourself. Pret would be eating frozen pizzas, ramen noodles, or from his mother’s kitchen if I were gone for a week.
When I first read the title of this post, I thought you literally meant three minutes and wondered what kind of garden you were building. It looks great and was fun to watch the process.
I can’t explain why I cried while watching this video, but the only explanation I have is that I am so proud. You are so creative. I am excited to watch your garden grow.

The time lapse was just videotaping all 20+ hours of it, then using a video editing program to speed it up 9000%. And I couldn’t have done it without my dad’s help. He advised me on what mix of soil would work best in the boxes, and helped me haul the dirt in. Also it would have been less fun hauling gravel and dirt in the trunk of my Saturn.
Hmm, you may have cried when you saw how lopsided a couple of the boxes were, I know I did before deciding I was too tired to re-do them.
That was extremely cool. Makes me wish I could build things. Or grow them.
