Photo a Day 165

The garden in our last house was too much for us to manage. It wasn’t huge, but it was big enough to run away in fear when it was full of weeds. We’re trying something new this year, square foot gardening. So while everyone was away on vacation I built this garden, small boxes that we can easily manage. And if we decide it’s too much, we can just fill a box with flowers for the year.
(there are more pictures in the Flickr set here)
There are 4×4 raised boxes that will have vegetables. A 2×4 box for herbs. A small 1×2 box for flowers(with a bench I made next to it). The center area was left empty, we plan on growing potatoes in a bucket in that area.
Jeremy, your garden is amazing. I am jealous. The grow boxes are wonderful, and the bench is a terrific idea. I can’t wait to see how your garden produces.
You’ll have to see it in person. It’s smaller than I expected, I wonder if we’ll be expanding it in a year.
