Most Interesting

Here are the most interesting photos in my 365 day set. Flickr bases popularity on a mixture of how many comments you get, how many people call your photo a favorite and how many people actually look at your photo. The comment thing doesn’t make sense to me, because a comment isn’t always positive, but that’s how they do it. It can bring up some weird choices, I have no idea what makes people look at one photo over the other. For example, the most interesting overall photo I have is this one of a jellyfish.
It’s a fairly recent photo, but somehow it quickly racked up a nice combination of views, favorites and comments.
When you switch to views alone it gets really strange though.
This photo of Sidney and her Grandpa Holbrook has more views than any other photo I have, 960. No favorites, no comments, nothing. I don’t have a clue what it could be.
Next is the top shot when going by favorites alone. I did three pictures of these pencils in the light box, this one isn’t my favorite, but other people really seem to enjoy it.
Ninteen people called it a favorite, three more than it’s next closest favorite. This photo is also the top in number of comments.
And here is the list of the ten most interesting photos according to Flickr.
I’d love to know how the equation works, and how everything is weighted. It always suprises me what photos pop up on my list.
A photo I took of a U gymnast also was in my top ten, and is my highest in views by far. Popular subject, maybe?
