Before I get to the links, a quick plea for help. Yesterday at 10 a.m. after Music and the Spoken Word on channel 5 in Utah, KSL aired a Gordon B Hinckley special. The full title is “A Biography of President Gordon B Hinckley”. Did anyone happen to Tivo or record it in some fashion? In the documentary there is a picture of President Hinckley visiting Vietnam, and he’s shaking my dad’s hand. I’d love to get a copy of that to take a screen shot. Email me at johnsenclan@gmail.com if you have any information.
- Thomas S. Monson is names the new President of the LDS church. The two counselors are Henry B. Eyring and Deiter F. Uchtdorf. Holy crap is that cool, an international member in the First Presidency? Now add someone from Asia, Africa or South America to the Twelve and let’s get this worldwide party started! (No, I’m not trying to tell God what do)
- Will Microsoft destroy Flickr if they purchase Yahoo? That would make me so sad, Flickr is my favorite site.
- Banned books
- Some really cool shots of African-American portraits and snapshots from 1900-1970. There is one that is nothing more than a girl pointing to a drinking fountain that says “White” that is heartbreaking. I love old photographs, each one seems like an event.
- Achieve alertness without caffeine
- Democrats in a dead heat going into Tuesday’s election. Am I the only one that won’t be sleeping much on Tuesday so I can stay up and watch election results?
- Infant products are killing your baby and probably making them sterile. Maybe.
- Utah’s Govorner endorses John McCain. That’s interesting, no love for Romney?
- Cool photo of two USAf F-15’s intercepting to USSR Migs over Alaska. They were escorting them to an airshow.
- Republicans for Obama
In Friday’s links, Pam asked a few questions. I didn’t think they were worth a full post, so I’ll answer them here.
A couple of questions.
1. Why are so many of your links Pro Barack Obama?
Uh, why do you think? I love his last book and agree with him on more issues than any other candidate. And he’s the single candidate that seems to be able to focus on the positive instead of trying to scare the hell out of us like Romney, Clinton and McCain. Read this post.
2. You have a link today that pokes fun at Romney, aren’t you Mormon?
Yes, I am Mormon. Which means I’ve known a lot of Mormons. Enough to know it isn’t a good enough reason to vote for one. I don’t agree with torture or the Iraq war, two things that make Romney feel all cuddly inside. I like the Romney of 10 years ago.
3. Where do you get your links?
The source of my links is about 50 different sites, I just pick and choose a few things I think are interesting while I’m eating breakfast or laying in bed. It’s handy to use a RSS reader.
4.Are there certain sites you read every day?
The links on the side of my site are the places I visit the most. I should probably update it to include a few more. I visit everything in my family group at least once a day. I visit everything in my Daily Reads section at least once a day (plus Smithology which I haven’t added to the list). I visit Boing-Boing every day. I’m going to try and review a site that I read every day. Maybe we can all give each other more exposure.
Thanks Jeremy. I’m fascinated by how you’ve combined a site that shows pictures of your kids with some serious posts and links. It’s like a combo blog and entertainment site. Thank you for answering my questions.
Jeremy, I sent you an email about the Hinckly special that aired yesterday.
Really? I want to see it again to see if I can spot Dad.
