A couple of people emailed me asking if I make money off the ads I put up on the site, and if enough people come to the site to make any money. According to the numbers 50-200 people visit the site per day depending on what I post (I guess depending on how many people share links with others). For example, my post about going to court had a around a hundred people read it so far, Britnie’s cookie recipe and photos(which I cross-posted to Tastespotting) over 300 people and the post about Sidney’s Chinese Parade got less than 50.

It used to be a lot more when I was doing the photo a day thing, I guess people enjoyed the photos. I make money on the ads if people click on them, so that depends on if any of you see anything interesting enough to click. Right now the ads make enough to pay for the site, which isn’t much. My goal is to make enough to pay for the site and my Flickr Pro account, which still wouldn’t be much, but would be nice for the strict budget Britnie and I have put on ourselves this year(we went a little nuts last holiday).

Another question I get is how easy it is to set up a site and how I like the way I set mine up. If you want easy, I’d go to blogger.com. It’s simple, and I think it’s got better since Google bought it. Wordpress (different than Wordpress.com) is what I have set up on a server I pay for (still really cheap) and I prefer it over anything else because of the control I have over every part of it.
