I know you’re liberal and everything, but as a Mormon don’t you think you should be either ignoring or speaking out against gay marriage? You link it like it’s something great to celebrate. (Homosexuals) should feel free to live together, even if its a sin, but marriage is for a man and woman, and people like them and you are destroying what marriage means. Gay marriage is really sick, even seeing two guys kissing in public is gross.
I doubt you can consider yourself a faithful member of the church if you support gay marriage.
Hey Zack. First of all I edited your post because I don’t like the language you used to describe homosexuals. Secondly, I edited out your website because your poor grammar was almost as confusing as the views you had written on your front page.
I don’t consider myself a liberal. I lean left, but I doubt I’d be considered a hard-core liberal anywhere outside of Utah. I don’t think gay people getting married is going to destroy marriage. How can more people living in stable relationship and building families destroy something? And with the amount of people getting divorced, can you really say heterosexual couples are doing a great job of keeping marriage sacred?
I don’t see the downside to two people getting married and starting a family. Just like I think it’s great when a man and woman get married and raise wonderful children, it’s pretty great that gay people can be parents as well. Families are pretty cool, and just because you love a person of the same gender doesn’t mean you’re going to love you kids or partner any less.
And yes, I do think two men making out in public is pretty gross. I also think seeing a man and woman making out in public is pretty gross. I’d prefer heterosexuals and homosexuals keep the public displays to a minimum. Yuck.
Memo to Zach:
Be careful of the labels you apply.
It appears that you must also be a Mormon since you use the term “the church” rather than the “Mormon Church” - or, as they say, the “Church of Jesus Christs of Latter-Day Saints”. If your comments needed to be edited for content, then “I doubt you can consider yourself a faithful member of the church” (quoting someone you obviously both know and love).
How much do you know about the author and his marriage?
How do you know the author is a liberal?
If marriage between two individuals of the same sex is wrong, why, then, is it o.k. to live together “even if its a sin” (as you say)?
I’ll never understand why gays getting married hurts the institution of marriage, or changes how my marriage is defined. It doesn’t change my relationship with Brooke, or how I feel about Brooke, or my marriage to Brooke.
Also, I don’t understand how Zack read into a liberal agenda when you merely stated the fact that the news occured. He must be pretty sharp!
I guess when it comes to gay marriage I’m liberal, maybe he just got that from reading the site. Or he’s just an extraordinarily smart dude.
