Sidney’s baptism dress
Jul 27th, 2008 by jeremy
Sidney is getting baptized next week, and we decided to put some framed pictures together of her wearing the amazing baptism dress that her grammy Jolinn made for her.

So we took her to a few locations and took a bunch of shots. I like the locations we picked, I think it was a good variety.

I’m not really excited with any of them, either small composition details or the fact she refused to smile in 90% of everything I took. Hopefully we can get a couple that will work.

I do love these two, though they’re not great for hanging on a wall. You see that frilly dress and the new white shoes and then the huge bruise on her leg from seeing how far she can jump off our bed onto her knees.
Any comments are welcome on which you think would work best as a portrait.

What a lucky girl. The dress is beautiful, and then to have pictures taken in so many places. I especially like the one in the green alfalfa (?) field with her cute smile and holding the flowers.
I think I like the one in the hay field the best. Even though she isn’t looking at the camera, I think is very pretty and has an artistic quality about it. I also like the picture of her shoes with the bruise on her leg. It shows both her girly and adventurous side.
I agree with Jessica on both counts. My second favorite is the one in front on the green/blue barn.
I agree that the one showing her bruises tells a great story of who Sidney is.
I like the hayfield one and the barn one. The ones of her legs are great storytelling pictures, but not portrait. They would be great in a place where people are not expecting a portrait but a piece of art.
Wow. That dress is beautiful! I love the photo in front of the barn. The one of her leaning over the iron fence is super sweet too.
I love the one of her leaning over the railing, she has such a cute smile in that one! What a pretty girl!
What a little angel! I can’t believe she’s already eight…amazing how fast they grow up.
I love them all, but think I would hang either the one of her leaning over the fence or the one with the bluish barn in the background. I would totally put the one of her shoes and bruises up somewhere too though, like in her room. Cute!
So, any chance you are coming to Indiana soon? My girls all need their pictures taken….
Anytime I’m in Indiana or you’re in Syracuse, the portraits are on the house.
My top picks are the one at the top of Sid holding her flowers out and the one in the wheat field.
