Ok, last list of links that are heavily political for a few years.
- A dead man’s coffin kills his wife
- Remember how Governor Palin described a county she was speaking in as “the Real America”? They voted for Obama
- A thief with no arms steals a tv
- Obama’s 53% of the popular vote is the most for a Democrat since 1964
- The U.S. Government stopped research after it showed marijuana slowed cancer growth
- A map showing county by county voting for the United States
- This is weird, apparently Governor Palin thought Africa was a country instead of a continent, and the Secret Service is blaming her for the increase of death threats against Obama
- Fan-powered flying car
- Flickr set of the Obama family watching election results
- Newspaper headlines from around the world after the Obama win
- Google Flu Trends shows where in the United States cases of Flu are starting to show up
- Obama has already made a list of 200 administrative actions that Bush has in place that he can change the day he enters office, including Bush’s limit on funding for stem cell research
I was disappointed that the article didn’tl ist the 200 actions Obama’s ready to take.
So you got your wish and Obama is president. I suppose he’ll get busy redefining marriage for the whole country so gays can get married, then you can be happy about that as well.
Great changes
A new President doesn’t normally make administrative actions in one big group at the beginning of a Presidency. He can stop actions previous Presidents have taken, but these actions are normally something that happens over a whole four or eight year period.
So these aren’t laws that go through the normal checks and balances. If you are interested in the changes he will be trying to make, you can check his website and change.gov
Redefining marriage is a poor argument. Marriage used to be a contract that had one owner (father) giving property (daughter) to another owner (husband). Why did we redefine marriage to change that, wouldn’t things be better if wives were property? Wives could be beaten by their husband, why did we redefine marriage to make that unacceptable? Wouldn’t things be better if I could slap my wife around if dinner wasn’t ready when I walked in the door? There used to be laws against an African-American marrying a Caucasian, why did we redefine marriage to make that acceptable? Wouldn’t the country be better if you could only marry a person based on the color of their skin?
Redefining marriage is a stupid argument against gay marriage
